A high-end homelab build shows where a Mac mini server may stop

The home server has been upgraded to a much more powerful desktop-class setup. The new system uses a 9970X, 128GB of DDR5 memory, an , a 2TB M.2 drive, about 48TB of ZFS storage, and two 10GbE network cards.

It runs LTS. The motherboard needed a BIOS update before it could recognize the 9970X, which was expected but still stressful.

The machine is now being used to train a draft model for on . The older 9900K system is planned to return later as a Proxmox node.
