A small home server rack shows the real work: cooling and backup
A compact rack setup combines several low-power computers with network and storage gear for use. A Dell Wyse 5070 runs on and has worked reliably for years. Two Lenovo m920q machines split the work: one runs services, and the other handles nightly NAS backups.
Some switches are still placed temporarily on a shelf, with a 3D-printed mount planned. is not finished yet, and extra rear fans will be added to improve airflow. The Xfinity modem gives off a lot of heat, so a large top fan is used to keep it cool.
A CyberPower PR1000LCD power backup unit may also be added, and the lower bays were and are working well.
