When separate AI agents work on the same codebase from different machines, they can't see each other's uncommitted changes, so they end up coding against outdated interface shapes and only discover the mismatch at merge time. An
If one agent tries to change a contract another agent depends on, the dependent agent gets notified automatically piggybacked on its next tool response, with no need to poll for updates. When two agents contest the same contract, they go through a propose-respond-finalize handshake to settle on one shape before either writes code against it. The design deliberately fails soft: if the server is unreachable, agents simply keep working independently instead of blocking.
Only contract declarations travel over the network, never raw source code, and when code snippets do need to pass through, they go over an channel where the server stores only ciphertext. It's free during the current beta and can be started with no account via npx aethereum init.
