Updating Pi-hole can temporarily cut off your server’s internet access
Several were updated with before Pi-hole was updated in the same way. The new Pi-hole image took a long time to download, and stopping its also removed the network’s working DNS service. Without DNS, websites could not be reached and Docker could not download the image needed for the update.
Pi-hole was restored to the previous version first, bringing DNS back. The new image was then downloaded separately and the was restarted successfully.
