Kreuzberg document extractor is being renamed Xberg
, an tool that extracts content from documents locally, will become Xberg in its next version. The shorter name was chosen because people without German context found difficult to pronounce or understand.
Renaming the main while keeping its existing stars and replacing version tags proved complicated, so the current version now has a separate LTS . It will receive bug fixes and through the end of 2026, but no new features.
Xberg 1.0.0 is still a and will be announced when it is ready. Its can already be installed from PyPI under the name xberg, while new development is hosted at xberg-io/xberg.
