Solo builder seeks feedback on a light-touch pregnancy tracking app
A developer shared an early idea for a lightweight pregnancy case-management app and asked for feedback on . The concept centers on three things: keeping all medical records for a pregnancy in one place, transcribing and summarizing doctor and midwife appointments, and using AI to generate personalized pre-appointment questions based on the specific week and details of the pregnancy, along with answers to common questions.
The idea comes directly from the developer's own family experience. During both of his wife's pregnancies, she felt overwhelmed by two recurring practical problems.
First, after appointments she would feel a sense of relief or clarity, but within a couple of hours she'd forget the specific things the midwife or doctor had said, and the official appointment notes didn't capture the particular details she wanted to remember. Second, she often didn't know what to ask beforehand — especially during the first pregnancy — whereas by the second pregnancy she had a better instinct for which questions became relevant at each stage of gestation.
Key points
- App idea: centralize pregnancy medical records and use AI to transcribe/summarize appointments
- AI generates personalized pre-appointment questions based on gestation week and individual history
- Idea originated from the developer's wife's real experience across two pregnancies
- Main problems targeted: forgetting appointment details within hours, and not knowing what to ask beforehand
- Still an early-stage concept — posted to purely to gather feedback
