A proposal to separate Codex, Work, and Chat in one app
The new OpenAI app could have a switch in the top-left corner for Codex, Work, and Chat modes. Chat mode would use the familiar ChatGPT layout, including the conversation sidebar and main screen. The small floating chat in Codex and Work would remain for quick questions and for passing useful details into Codex tasks.
This would bring all three experiences into one app without forcing Chat and Codex to behave like the same system. Their differences in remembered information, task execution, and could remain intact.
