Mac mini shortages can make even full-price units hard to find

As of July 2026 in the United States, a with 256 GB of storage and 16 GB of memory had a listed price of $800. The 512 GB and 16 GB version was $1,000.

Apple’s repaired-and-checked resale units were usually and often sold within minutes when stock appeared. New machines ordered from Apple also required a wait of several weeks.

In many cases, the only immediately available choices were previously opened or repaired units priced at or slightly above the normal new price. Past deals such as a $500 are therefore not a realistic buying for everyone, although it is still worth checking for discounts.
