The new cloud version can be used for free without maintaining your own server. Mathesar Cloud is run by the nonprofit group that maintains the project. The team says Mathesar will remain fully , without keeping part of the product closed as a paid-only core.
The current free plan is aimed at solo projects, prototypes, and testing Mathesar before a larger rollout, with one database per user. The early beta is being used to learn what people need while the team prepares more plans with the same features as the version.
