Claude Code workflow hits usage limits after about 90 minutes
5 repeatedly reaches its about 1.5 hours into each five-hour window. The current Claude Code workflow uses / to create a plan, then Opus 4.8 to carry it out. A top-down approach took several days to produce the desired result.
Later improvement requests tend to expand the entire end-to-end solution instead of changing only one part, which may consume more tokens. More efficient ways to use Claude and build capable systems in which several AI agents work together are still needed.
Key points
- 5 reached its limit about 1.5 hours into a five-hour window.
- / created the plan, and Opus 4.8 executed it.
- A top-down process took several days to reach the intended result.
- Improvement requests tended to expand the full solution rather than one section.
- Larger plans may be increasing token use.
