Free browser strategy game built with Claude and Fable, inspired by a 1993 classic
A developer built and released Realms in Embers, a free fantasy strategy game paying homage to the 1993 DOS game Fantasy Empires. Most of the code was written with Claude, with Fable handling the final stretch of development.
The game is turn-based and features 12 lords with asymmetric abilities, realms, diplomacy and betrayal mechanics, heroes and quests, transparent battle odds, and five different endings. It is not a remake — the setting, rules, characters, and writing are all original.
There is no account signup or install required, no tracking, and it works offline after the first load. The is available on GitHub.
