Developer gets Claude Code running natively on Windows XP
A developer is working on running the ent directly on Windows XP as a native Node process, rather than through SSH or RDP to a different machine. It connects to Anthropic's API over the network the same way it does on any other . Right now, login, chat, , and the UI all work correctly.
What's still broken: any tool feature that relies on bash in ways XP doesn't support, plus sign-in for the API platform and Azure/Bedrock. The developer ordered an old GX280 desktop to demonstrate the setup running on real vintage hardware.
Key points
- Claude Code runs natively on Windows XP without SSH or RDP
- Login, chat, , and UI currently work
- Bash-dependent tool features and API platform/Azure/Bedrock sign-in are still broken
- s to demo it on real vintage hardware (a GX280 desktop)
