Claude now checks 3D asset licenses before writing code
A developer building a 3D video project loaded several .glb (3D model) files into Claude (Opus 4.8). Claude reviewed the files and flagged that some required license , then refused to implement anything involving them until the rights holder was identified.
When the developer supplied GitHub links, Claude followed those links itself and reported back which files were license-compliant and which were not. Claude also pushed back directly on the user's request, stating that proceeding without checking would work against the user's own goal.
Key points
- A developer loaded multiple .glb (3D model) files into Claude (Opus 4.8) for a 3D video project
- Claude flagged files needing license and refused to implement until the rights holder was confirmed
- Given GitHub links, Claude followed them itself to determine which files were license-compliant
- Claude pushed back on the user's request, saying it would work against the user's own goal
