Solo dev's craving-tracker app grows organically with zero ad spend

A launched Tideover, an app that helps people quit smoking, sugar, alcohol, gambling, or other habits by focusing on the exact moment a craving hits rather than just counting days. When an urge shows up, the app guides the user to breathe, ride it out, and log it, then tracks patterns over time.

It launched with no marketing budget, relying only on posting genuinely useful content in relevant communities. Over the last 28 days it gained 375 new users and 585 active users, s doubled from 3 to 6, rose from €13 to €23, and was about €118, including a best single day of €72.

The numbers are still small, but the trend is climbing. The developer credits the growth to focusing on the specific craving moment instead of building another streak counter, and to targeting underserved niches like sugar cravings rather than competing head-on in the crowded alcohol-tracker space.
