A proxy that blocks runaway AI agent costs before the bill arrives

Cognocient is a proxy that sits in front of (like OpenAI's) and attributes every dollar spent to a specific feature, team, or department. Its core function is enforcing a budget limit before a request goes out, rather than flagging overspend afterward.

If a feature or an is about to exceed its cost ceiling, the proxy either blocks the request outright or degrades it gracefully instead of letting it through. It also classifies spending as versus waste and gives one-click recommendations for routing a feature to a cheaper model.

Cost data can be exported as CSV or PDF, and board-ready reports are built around cost per outcome rather than cost per token, with export formatting aligned to the FOCUS 1.1 standard. A free calculator is also available to try without signing up.
