ClaudeBar puts Claude Code controls on the MacBook Touch Bar
ClaudeBar is an early tool that turns the MacBook into a control strip for Claude Code. When Claude Code is running in the terminal, the changes into a Claude-focused mode. , such as , can appear as buttons that can be tapped directly.
It also supports configurable shortcuts for repeated actions. A live er shows session activity, but it includes cache reads, so it can rise faster than the number of tokens that are actually billed. The Allow and Always Allow buttons work by sending the number keys 1 and 2 to the terminal, so the screen should be checked first if a prompt shows choices in a different order.
macOS also adds a small close button to the left side of this kind of panel, and tapping it hides ClaudeBar until another event brings it back. This is a rough v1, so it is useful but not polished yet.
Key points
- ClaudeBar changes the MacBook into a Claude Code control area while Claude Code runs.
- can be approved from buttons.
- shortcuts can be configured for repeated actions.
- The er is closer to a session activity meter than a billing meter.
- Approval buttons send number key presses, so prompt order should be checked first.
