A non-coder built 11 useful tools with Claude in two months
An IT professional without a software development background began by asking Claude in a browser to build a small app for a work task. After it worked, the same approach was used whenever work or a home network needed a simpler tool. The setup gradually moved through and GitHub Desktop to Claude Code in VS Code.
Reusable instruction files, project runbooks, templates, and a consistent visual style were created, while handled coding and file reading. and ensured that every change was personally reviewed and tested before it could be saved or released. The workflow also added automatic Windows installer creation, build attestation, repository protection, and a gitleaks check for exposed secrets.
Each Claude mistake or skipped step became a new rule that improved later work. Since May 29, the process has produced 11 public , 379 commits, and 52 releases of free, personal tools on a $20 monthly plan.
